Daughter of a veteran politician and wife of a serving IPS will contest against chief minister Vasundhara Raje in the upcoming state Assembly election. “Yes, I will contest from Jhalarapatan,” confirmed Mukul Choudhary who has already begun campaigning in the area for nearly a month. According to her contesting election was the only possible democratic way before her to fight against injustice to her husband. Her husband Pankaj Choudhary is presently posted as superintendent of police in the state crime record bureau. “My husband set an example of honesty but facing the charge sheet. The Raje government has been harassing honest officers while corrupt ones are being given a free hand,” she alleged.

Mr. Choudhary from 2009 batch recently created controversy by making allegations against Tanmay Kumar, IAS officer and secretary to chief minister Vasundhara Raje. He first came into news in 2009, for opening history sheet of Gazi Fakir in Jaisalmer following which the congress government had transferred him but people came onto street in his support. Later, Raje government removed him as SP of Bundi district when he took tough action against members of Hindu outfits following communal violence in Nainwa three years ago. Mukul terms her decision to contest election as battle for the honour of her husband who has harassed in current government. She also accuses Raje government of being corrupt and communal. “Rajasthan used to be peaceful state but in last couple of years law & order situation has deteriorated,” she said.
