- AGE CORRESPONDENT

The bodies of two sisters in their 20s, who were missing from their home in Northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area, were found in a drain in the Alipur area under mysterious circumstances on the wee hours of Tuesday, the police said.

The girls, aged 22 and 25, were missing since September 19 and a case was registered at the Seelampur police station in Northeast Delhi, a family member said.

According to police, the girls were identified by a tattoo on one of the girls’ hand, which read ‘ Lucky.’ The elder girl was identified as Rukhsana and the younger sister was identified as Nabila. Lucky is reportedly the name of Rukhsana’s ex- husband, whom she had left after a failed marriage. According to Shabnam, the girls’ mother, the two had left home on the evening of September 19 saying that someone had called them at the ISBT bus stand to offer them a job.

At around 5.40 pm, Nabila called Shabnam and said they were in a car and on their way to Model Town area. Subsequently, their phones were switched off. Unable to contact them, the worried family members lodged a missing complaint at the Seelampur police station.

Shabnam, in her complaint to the police, said that Rukhsana had married a man from another community two years ago. However, the love marriage failed as the man started harassing her soon after. He even tried to sell off their daughter.
