NDMC refutes AAP claim over rehabilitation
The BJP ruled North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday refuted charges leveled by AAP in rehabilitation of Panjabi Basti occupants for development of Nangloi ROB.
Adesh Kumar Gupta, chairperson standing committee Veena Virmani and leader of house, Tilak Raj Kataria in a joint statement condemned the allegations and refuted the charges leveled by AAP leaders in a press conference regarding eligibility of persons of Panjabi Basti affected by the project of ROB at Sultanpuri near Nangloi.
They said that in pursuant to the orders of the high court dated October 3, 2012, a committee was constituted to finalise the eligibility criteria for rehabilitation of affected person and 53 persons out of 251 applicants were found eligible for rehabilitation.
They further informed that a piece of land measuring 1,211.12 square meters was transferred to the association of 53 eligible project affected persons. Five persons of one property have been alleged to be unduly favoured.
Mukand Lal and Prem Sagar have been assigned separate unit of 56 square meters who were holding a share of more than 100 square meters each in property no A- 5 Punjabi Basti in accordance with the fixed criteria. “Similarly, three other persons namely, Neeraj Arora, Subash Jain and Ved Prakash Jain have been assigned an area of 9.9 square meters each as per the affected area of their holdings,” said top leadership of North Corporation.
In reference to the allegation regarding the eligibility for rehabilitation to a woman holding a shop in basement, the civic leadership clarified that there was no bar to eligibility for rehabilitation for holdings in basement in the fixed criteria. The persons having holdings in basement were also held eligible for rehabilitation.
