Shah fans out men for reality check

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

In yet another sign of BJP’s national president Amit Shah’s lack of confidence in state leadership, he has constituted chosen six leaders, considered close to him, to prepare a ground report for him about all 200 constituencies. The six leaders chosen for this exercise have been paired and divided into three groups. Their mandate is to collect data and feedback about prospective candidates, caste equations, local issues and performance of sitting MLA and the state government.

The teams consist of one central leader and one leader belonging to the state. All the chosen leaders have strong roots in the RSS, all are known for allegiance to the BJP president and none of the three state leaders has any love- lost for the chief minister.

BJP national joint general secretary ( organisation) V Satish, party’s state incharge Avinash Rai Khanna and state general secretary ( organisation) Chandrasekhar are from outside the state while party’s state spokesperson Satish Punia, Union minister of state Arjun Ram Meghwal and Union minister of state Gajendra Singh Shekhawat are from the state.

The division of the state into three parts - Jaipur, Jodhpur and Chittorgarh - is based on the sangh’s organizational structure. Mr. Satish and Mr. Poonia have been assigned Jodhpur. Mr. Khanna and Mr. Meghwal would be looking after Jaipur while Mr. Chandrashekhar and Mr. Shekhawat would go to Chittorgarh.
