The BJP ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation ( SDMC) has decided to provide high speed internet connectivity in its 45 schools. The SDMC claimed that the facility will help in inculcating knowledge to students and ensure success of digital learning.

These 45 schools spread over in Central, South and West Zone of the SDMC. Chairperson education committee, Dr Nandini Sharma announced the new initiative while chairing a meeting of the committee.

“The SDMC is committed to provide internet connectivity in all its schools. The internet connectivity in Najafgarh Zone and rest of the schools in the three zone will be soon made available depending upon the feasibility, however the connectivity in 45 schools will become a reality very soon,” said Dr Sharma.

Dr Sharma mentioned that internet connectivity will help in inculcating quality knowledge among students and ensure the success of digital learning which is important in the modern age.

According to a senior SDMC official, the education department has, in fact, used its good offices in agreeing M/ s Atria Convergence Technologies limited ( ACT) to provide high speed internet connectivity in schools.

“This will benefit thousands of students in satisfying the quest and anxiety to know more and more about the prescribed syllabus and connected additional knowledge in order to make them excel in the present set up of learning,” he said.

High speed connectivity will be provided soon after the finalization of the modus operandi of providing internet connectivity between the education department and ACT.

The ACT will provide connectivity with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps to each school.

The connectivity will be provided through wi fi router. “The education department will be in a win- win position as the department will not have to spare any amount on this head,” Dr Sharma added.
