Google has announced the latest additions to their Pixel family — Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Claimed to bring the best of Google to its users, the two phones are focus on helpful, thoughtful, and personal experience­s through AI.

The Pixel 3 is available in two sizes — the 5.5- inch full HD+ OLED equipped Pixel 3 and the 6.3- inch Quad HD+ OLEDequipp­ed Pixel 3 XL. It also comes in three colours — Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink. They still flaunt Pixel’s iconic two- tone design with a soft- touch glass back. It comes with dual front- firing speakers tuned by a GRAMMY- winning music producer to turn your phone into a powerful speaker.

Google is promising a lot of camera enhancemen­ts with the Pixel 3. The 12.2MP rear camera and a 8MP dual setup for the front bring a lot of software trickeries to make for some of the best photograph­s from a smartphone. The Pixel 3’ s Visual Core chip hosts Google’s AI algorithms to bring in several nifty features such as Top Shot, which captures multiple shots before the shot is taken in order to help the user pick the best shot. Super Res Zoom uses AI to digitally zoom without losing any image quality. With Night Sight, users can take bright, detailed, colourful shots in dimlylit situations. The Google Assistant is baked into the core of the Pixel 3 to help you find answers and control your phone and compatible smart home devices— all with a simple squeeze or just by using your voice. Gmail’s Smart Compose also debuts on the Pixel 3 while Gboard will recommend GIFs, stickers, and more, to make your conversati­ons fun and engaging. As expected, both the Pixel 3 models are powered by the flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset and come with 4GB of RAM as standard. The Pixel 3 is powered by a 2900mAh battery whereas the XL gets a bigger 3430mAh unit, which can be rejuvenate­d by an 18W fast charger in the box. The new Pixel Stand is a new Qi compliant wireless charger sold separately at ` 6,900, which turns the phone into a smart speaker and smart display powered by the Google Assistant.

Both the Pixel 3 variants come with high- quality Pixel USB- C earbuds and a USB- C Digital to 3.5 mm headphone adapter in the box.

The Pixel 3 64GB is priced at ` 71,000 whereas the Pixel 3 128GB costs ` 80,000. The Pixel 3 XL 64GB starts at ` 83,000 and goes up to ` 92,000 for the 128GB variant.
