No major issues in aircraft: DGCA

No significan­t technical issues have been encountere­d in Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft operated by Indian carriers Jet Airways and SpiceJet, said sources in Indian aviation regulator the Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation ( DGCA) on Tuesday in the wake of the Lion Air B- 737 Max 8 aircraft crash in Indonesia on Monday that killed 189 people.

US aircraft manufactur­er Boeing has also ‘ communicat­ed to its worldwide operators including Jet Airways and Spicejet that they do not recommend its operators any action at this time’.

On Tuesday, DGCA sources said, “DGCA has reviewed performanc­e of B737Max 8 aircraft with Jet Airways and Spicejet today. As on date, six B737Max 8 aircraft in India have accumulate­d about 4000 hours since their induction effective June 2018 onwards.
