OnePlus 6T is official, flaunts Screen Unlock
OnePlus has finally launched its OnePlus 6T - - an upgrade to the OnePlus 6, launched in May. The smartphone comes with a starting price of $ 549 ( approx ` 40,000) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, $ 579 for the 8GB/ 128GB configuration, and $ 629 for 8GB/ 256GB configuration. It will be available for purchase starting from November 1 in North America and November 6 in Europe.
The handset flaunts a 6.41- inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels, 19.5: 9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for protection. Under the hood, the OnePlus 6T is built around a 10nm octa- core Snapdragon 845 chipset clocked up to 2.8 GHz, coupled with Andreno 630 GPU, 6GB/ 8GB of RAM and 128GB/ 256GB of internal storage. It runs on the latest Android 9.0
Pie with OxygenOS on top. The main USP of the smartphone is its i n - d i s p l ay fingerprint s e n s o r . OnePlus is calling this as ‘ Screen Unlock.’ The c o m p a n y claims that the smartphone can be unlocked in 0.34 seconds through Screen Unlock. Optics wise, the company is touting its improved camera performance in terms of low light photography.
The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup, comprising of a 16MP primary Sony IMX 519 sensor and an f/ 1.7 aperture and a 20MP f/ 1.7 secondary Sony IMX 376K sensor. The setup is supported by a dual- LED flash. The cameras are equipped with both OIS and EIS. OnePlus has added a night mode, which the company calls it nightscape feature, meant to improve low- light camera experience. Additionally, a new Studio Lighting feature also aims to deliver better portraits. For selfies, there is a 16MP f/ 2.0 Sony IMX 371 sensor.
Connectivity options include Wi- Fi 802.11 a/ b/ g/ n/ ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, G L O NA S S and Type- C port with Fast Charge. Sadly, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset will be available in Mirror Black and M i d n i g h t Black colour options. All prices for India are expected to be similar to the OnePlus 6 variants.
