The controversial “DNA” jibe against Bihar CM is back in Bihar politics after almost three years. This time, Union minister and RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha used the issue to attack Nitish Kumar.

While addressing his party workers in Muzaffarpur, Mr Kushwaha said that “Nitish Kumar had collected samples of hair and nails to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remark in 2015, but he has not shared the test results. People of the state are still waiting for the report.”

His latest statement against Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has sparked speculations regarding changes in Bihar alliance. However, RLSP sources in Patna said on Monday that the party will wait for BJP to officially announce seatsharing arrangements before taking any decisions regarding the issue.

Party sources said that Mr Kushwaha’s “DNA” remark came after chief minister Nitish Kumar recently called him “neech” ( low) during an event in Patna earlier this week.

Nitish Kumar, while responding to Upendra Kushwaha’s claims, said that he was unwilling to continue as Bihar CM after 2020 Assembly elections had said that political conversation must not be brought to a “neech star” ( low level).

“Nitishji, who once used to say that he is like my big brother, now sees me as a neech. I want to tell him that let people of Bihar decide whether I am neech or not,” said Union minister Upendra Kushwaha while addressing his party workers in Muzaffarpur.

Mr Kushwaha, unhappy with the seat- sharing arrangements offered by BJP, has been demanding a larger share for 2019 general elections.
