2 YOUTH THRASHED BY MOB FOR MOLESTING WOMAN

In a sudden outburst, two youth were brutally thrashed by a mob in Outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area for molesting a woman. A video of the incident went viral on the social media. The victim was identified as Vikas, who had previous criminal involvements.

The police said that on November 14, it received information about a ruckus created by Vikas and Monu during Chhath Puja in Outer Delhi’s Hind Vihar Colony. The police rushed to the spot and came to know that the accused duo, along with their associates Sonu, Sandeep, and one juvenile, had molested a lady. Following this, the public had caught hold of them and assaulted them.

After seeing the police party, Vikas, who was previously wanted in a case, fled with Sandeep. Subsequently, they were chased by the cops. However, to save himself, Vikas jumped into a pool of muddy water near the railway line. When police was trying to take him out, a mob of 40- 50 persons reached there. They were infuriated because of Vikas’ act during the festival, the police said.

Filled with rage, the mob started thrashing Vikas and Sandeep. The police tried to intervene and took the accused to the police station.

DCP Seju Kuruvilla said a case has been registered based on the statement of the victim and all five accused were arrested.

Further, a 17- year- old girl alleged that she was also molested and an attempt to kidnap her, while she was on her way to Chhath Puja, was made by the accused.
