Man shot dead by biker in another case of road rage

The hotheadedn­ess of Delhiites on roads once again turned fatal for a 34year- old man, who was shot dead in the national capital after his car brushed past a two- wheeler in Geeta Colony area on Monday late night.

The incident comes a day after a 21- year- old youth was shot dead in East Delhi in a case of road rage.

In a suspected case of road rage, Sushil Chauhan ( 34) was allegedly shot dead following a quarrel after his vehicle collided with a scooter in Shahdara’s Geeta Colony area.

Chauhan, who was a tailor by profession, was a resident of New Usmanpur. He sustained one bullet injury.

The police said the incident took place at around 11.30 pm on Monday and it was informed about the same by one of his friends, Karthik Kashyap, who was also present at the time of the incident.

Chauhan was returning home with his friends after having dinner at a restaurant in Geeta Colony. When they reached near Geeta Colony flyover, their car collided with a scooter while taking a turn. Following this, a verbal spat took place between them. It turned ugly when the person on the twowheeler opened fired at Chauhan with his countrymad­e pistol. Subsequent­ly, he fled from the spot.

He was rushed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital by his friends, where he was declared brought dead by the doctor. He died owing to excessive bleeding, the officer said.

There were six persons in the car, including three women. As of now, it is suspected to be a matter of road rage and no personal enmity angle has been found, DCP ( Shahdara) Meghna Yadav said.

The other occupants of the car did not sustain any injury. The statements of the victims have been recorded. They alleged that there were two persons involved in the attack.

A case has been registered and the matter is being probed, the officer said.
