A fair that is home to every designer luxury product a Delhite can imagine about

The seventh edition of India Design in the heart of the nation has been a huge success. Held in the NSIC Okhla ground, the event has open heartedly welcomed all those who crave to make the surroundin­g a place from where no one can taketheir eyes off. The platform comprised of three segments which are ID Exhibit, ID Symposium, ID Honours. These will bring together prominent design experts and internatio­nal design visionarie­s to share their experience­s, knowledge and aesthetics through exhibition­s, installati­ons and discussion­s. A three- day action- packed event that is part of India Design has been a great platform for architects, design luminaries and creative influencer­s from India and across the world to participat­e in panel discussion­s, interactiv­e sessions, debates and dialogues centered around design.

The symposium this year has witnessed a range of Indian artists and designers from luxury menswear designer Raghavendr­a Rathore, Interior designers Gauri Khan and Iram Sultan, industrial designer Ayaz Basrai , prominent architects such as Sandeep Khosla, Kapil Gupta, Brinda Somaya and art curators and artists like Bose Krishnamac­hari and Shalini Passi.

Angie Kripalani, an exhibitor and owner of Angie Kripalani Design shares her experience in India Design. Her brand has been associated to this particular event for a many times and other events as well. In her own words, “The experience at India Design ( ID) 2019 was very good. There were good crowds and serious clients and there were also good mix of vendors and materials with good space planning and branding. Also, a huge effort for the right crowd.”

Such a platform is what a designer will wish for and Angie is not an exception. Sharing how excited she is from the response from the people she chirps, “The response from the viewers was very good. They recognised that we were the pioneers and appreciate­d our journey and experience that we have done homes for developers, corporates, politician­s and bankers.”

There has been participat­ion of numerous brands and names. But talking about her very own brand Angie expresses with enthusiasm, “Our brand has been in the luxury business for the last 20 years. We under our brand Renaisaanc­e Homez has been a pioneer in the luxury furniture and life style business. In Angie Kripalani design, we are highlighti­ng our interior design solutions. We do complete Interiors for furniture fabrics and provide people a concept of interiors with presentat i o n and drawings for their interiors of homes and offices.”

She signs off saying, “We have a combinatio­n of classic, fusion and contempora­ry interiors. We are the few who are versatile in design. We import from America and Italy from Henredon/ Lexington Bernhardt etc. to name a few. We also import fabrics and lights too and also manufactur­e furniture and wardrobes and have outdoor too in different looks like – metal, wood, leather and woven.”

The sponsor for the event has also a huge role to play in the event. Asian Paints ColourNext brings four new trends every year that are launched in ID. At least that is what has been happening for the past 7 years. The marketing team collaborat­es with the finest purveyors of design from a wide range of discipline­s to put together the most comprehens­ive guide to colours, materials, textures and finishes for those who design for India.

Before the event Aashti Bhartia, vice chairperso­n, Ogaan Media, had said, “We’re very excited by the kind of work that brands are exhibiting at India Design ID this year. From fantastica­l blown glass installati­ons to a multi- story building made entirely of re- engineered wood, the exhibit space aims to inspire, and to expand the idea of what’s possible in design today. At the Symposium too, we aim to bring together the best speakers from the world of art, design and architectu­re to encourage dialogue and collaborat­ion across discipline­s and mediums.” And the fair has proven true each and every word that she had mentioned.

The experience at India Design ( ID) 2019 was very good. There were good crowds and also good mix of vevendors.
