QDear doctor,

I had unprotected sex 20- 25 days back. Now, last week just 2- 3 days before my periods, I took I- Pill. After a week, I went for pregnancy test and the report was positive. Will I- pill have any side effect on my baby? Also, will it be safe to continue with pregnancy or not?

The Emergency Contraceptive Pill should be taken within 72 hours of an unprotected sexual intercourse. The earlier the better. Otherwise it’s effectiveness gets reduced. Since your pregnancy is with in the 12 week period you may undergo Medical Termination of Pregnancy through Suction Method. Most Hospitals have this facility. In general the contraceptive pill has practically no adverse effects on the foetus.

QI am 22 year old. From the teenage I am not interested to do masturbation because my friends told me that masturbation will lead to severe health problems. But now i am interested in masturbation. For the last 3 months their occurs a white colored film like substance at the tip of the penis. It also carries a foul smell. Is it a symptom of any serious illness. Please reply.

Masturbation is a perfectly normal act. Even babies keep fondling their genitals. This is simply a normal learning process whereby they understand their own bodies. Masturbation is a replacement / substitute. for sexual intercourse. The difference being, masturbation is entirely self oriented unlike sexual intercourse, which is very much a shared experience, the objective being mutual pleasure, emotional satisfaction or procreation. The semen which is expelled from the penis during masturbation is dilute milky white in color. Usually the semen will smell fruitish or it may have the smell of chlorine.
