A trend that had taken 2018 by rage is making an appearance again this year for the spring-summer months. The peek-aboo skirt trend, where fashionistas have been teaming an unconventional pair of a longer shirt dress or top with a shorter skirt so that the top’s hemline peeks out of the skirt, has become a fashion favourite with quite a few celebrities too.
Actress Shilpa Shetty was recently spotted showing off the trend twice — one with a flowy floral skirt and again with a white mini skirt. Actress Kajal Agarwal has also spotted sporting the look for a film. Last year Kriti Sanon and Shraddha Kapoor too sported the look flawlessly. With the fresh spring and summer looks coming in, experimenting with skirts seems to be a great idea.
Celebrity stylist Archa Mehta, who styled Kajal, says that the peek-a-boo trend is something anyone with any body type can pull off. “It doesn’t matter if you are curvy, petite, tall or lean. This is a fun experimental style which is very easy to pull off. If you are slightly on the shorter side, you can team a long skirt that reaches till the knees with a longer shirt dress with 3-4inches of its hemline peeking out. You can also team a lace skirt with a contrasting dress or long top that can be seen through the lacework.”

Sanjay Kumar Dhauliya says, “A complementing belt is must with this layered look to take away the attention from any bulkiness that may show. Also, fun hairstyles like high ponytails look great! Hoops, layered bracelets and lots of rings are something one can easily style with this trend.”
