26-year-old stabbed to death, video viral
A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified criminals in South West Delhi’s Sagarpur area. The incident was reported on the wee hours of Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Monu Tyagi, a resident of Hans Park in the area. According to Devendra Arya, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), South West district, a police control room (PCR) call regarding the stabbing was received around 4:36 am on Thursday following which an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) was dispatched for the spot.
“The injured was rushed to Deen Dayayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors,” said the DCP.
Tyagi had come to
Delhi from Muzzafarnagar and was staying here with his uncle. The incident took place when he was returnig to his hometown.
“A case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Sagarpur police station. Police teams are scanning CCTV cameras in the area to identify the criminals and to know the crime sequence. So far there is no eyewitness of the incident,” said the DCP adding that police have also detained a suspect for questioning.
A video of the incident is going viral on social media wherein it could be seen that three unidentified persons first approached the victim and then tried to rob him off his belongings. When the victim resisted, two of them caught the victim by his neck and hands while the third accused stabbed him multiple times and fled from the spot.
