Ash’s Paris look sparks a row

- — Sanskriti Media

Fashion is a point of view, and designer Wendell Rodricks’ views on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s accentuated smoky eyes look at Paris Fashion Week, saying that the former Miss World was a possible Halloween candidate, has led to a storm on the social media as well as the fashion circuit.

Aishwarya, who is often seen at Cannes representing L’Oreal, moved a few kilometres up north to Paris for her debut at Paris Fashion Week last weekend. She walked the ramp for Italian designer Giambattista Valli. Camilla Cabello, Amber Heard, Geri Horner, Helen Mirren, Doutzen Kroes and Eva Longoria were part of the ensemble bunch of world stars that walked at the L’Oreal Paris Le Défilé show.

“Aishwarya wore a printed smock dress with a high neck and a vintage vibe, with her hair in a bouffant. But the coral lip colour that she wore didn’t really match her hazel eyes and the make up that tried to highlight it didn’t really come off,” says a fashion police member, preferring to play it down. But Wendell was not so politically correct. He said: “L’Oreal you have one of the prettiest girls in the world and this is how you do her make-up and dress her? Sack the stylist for this sack dress with a note that Halloween is next month.” Soon after, social media users took off on what Wendell said and went hammer and tongs at Aishwarya’s look, while some of her fans lashed out at the designer.

All said and done, the 45-yearold Bollywood star still makes news every time she dresses up. The actress recently joined the Disney Universe when she signed up to voice for Angelina Jolie in the second edition of Maleficient.
