The BJP top brass — including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister and party national president Amit Shah and Union defence minister Rajnath Singh among other senior leaders — will embark on campaigning in pollbound Haryana after Dussehra, with the PM expected to address around five to six rallies. The PM is also the party’s “star campaigner” along with 39 other leaders, including “Dreamgirl” and Mathura MP Hema Malini and actor-turned-politician and Gurdaspur MP Sunny Deol. The 90-member Haryana Assembly is scheduled to go to polls on October 21, with Mr Shah expected to address at least a dozen rallies and Mr Singh expected to address at least ten rallies.

The list of “star campaigners” submitted to the Election Commission, includes the names of the party’s national working president J.P. Nadda, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Union textiles minister Smriti Irani, Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari and Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jairam Thakur.

Bhojpuri actors and BJP MPs Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan will also campaign in the state.
