AAP MP and in-charge for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections Sanjay Singh, in a press conference on Saturday, announced the launch of Aapan Purvanchal — an initiative to connect with the people of Purvanchal.

“This campaign will start on October 6 and end on November 20.The goal of this dialogue is to connect with our voters and explain them the good work done by the Kejriwal government for the people of Purvanchal,” he said.

He added that under this initiative, more than 300 meetings will be organised and he will personally attend around 150 meetings. He will be supported

The goal of Aapan Purvanchal is to highlight the good work done by the Kejriwal government for the people of Purvanchal, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said

and accompanied by AAP national spokesperson Dilip Pandey, PAC member Durgesh Pathak, MLA Sanjeev Jha, Purvanchal region president Sanjay Bhagat, and all the MLAs of the respective area.

He said that the AAP government in Delhi has laid new sewer lines in around 500 colonies, constructed roads, and spent more than `1,000 crore in development projects in areas inhabited by the Purvanchali people.

To celebrate their biggest festival, Chhat Puja, the Kejriwal-led government has increased the number of ghats from 72 to 1,200 while concretising and lighting them as well.

“Fulfilling the long demand of the Purvanchali people, Delhi government has declared a holiday on Chhat Puja. Giving recognition to Maithili language, we have introduced it in the school curriculum, a feat which even the Bihar government has not been able to achieve,” he added.

He assured that the Delhi government will again make lavish arrangements for this year’s Chhat Puja and celebrate it with full festivity and vigour.

Continuing his attack on BJP and Congress, he reiterated that on the one hand Congress and BJP ruled states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Assam have inflicted violence, snatched livelihood, and humiliated the people of Purvanchal, the Kejriwal-led Delhi government, on the other hand, has ensured them jobs, provided better amenities for conducting their business, and improved their standard of living.

He further said that the AAP government will start similar dialogue initiatives for SC/ST, businessmen, minorities, and for people living in jhuggis and rural areas of Delhi catering to different segments of the society.
