Pak must stop terror support: US senator RESOLUTION FOR GANDHI IN U.S. HOUSE

Washington, Oct 12: Pakistan must end support to terrorist groups, a top US senator has said a day after meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, discussing with them what more can be done to preempt terror attacks and prevent radicalism.

Senator Maggie Hassan also called for finding ways to de-escalate the tension between India and Pakistan that spiked after New Delhi revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Washington, Oct 12: Indian-American Congressma­n Raja Krishnamoo­rthi introduced a resolution in the US House of Representa­tives celebratin­g Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversar­y and his enduring legacy.

“Mahatma Gandhi is one of my personal heroes,” he said after introducin­g the resolution on Friday. The resolution was cosponsore­d by a bipartisan group of 14 other lawmakers.

“Gandhi’s dedication to public service is an inspiratio­n. Even when faced with incredible hardships and injustice, he never wavered in the fight for freedom, dignity and equality for all,” he said. —PTI
