Kejri has failed to check pollution: Tiwari

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari on Sunday distributed anti-pollution masks among people at Central Park in Connaught Place, alleging that the Kejriwal government has failed to check air pollution in the city as it “works in advertisements”.

Mr Tiwari also charged that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is seeking credit abroad for bringing down pollution whereas the Modi government has done groundlevel works for this. He claimed that the people of Delhi including schoolchildren have been forced to wear masks to save them from pollution, and alleged the government has left them to fend for

themselves.

The AAP termed mask distribution by Mr Tiwari as “drama” and asked him to help Delhi by stopping crop stubble burning in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana ruled by the BJP. AAP spokesperson

Raghav Chadha said the Delhi BJP headed by Mr Tiwari is a “drama company” which indulges in non-serious theatrics,

“Had Delhi BJP been serious in tackling air pollution, it would have prevailed on state governments run by its party in Haryana and UP to ensure that stubble burning from these states does not choke Delhi,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Tiwari said that illegal immigrants are responsible for 80 per cent crimes in the national capital, referring to the incident of chain snatching with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s niece in the city.

The AAP accused the BJP of indulging in “dirty politics” over the law and order situation in Delhi. AAP leader Sanjay Singh said that it was Mr Kejriwal who got CCTV cameras installed across the city and the criminals who robbed PM Modi’s niece have been identified and nabbed because of the cameras installed by Mr Kejriwal.
