Global meet on eye treatments inaugurate­d

◗ AIOC 2020 is one of the biggest platforms for the Ophthalmol­ogists providing an opportunit­y to share experience­s, discuss pitfalls and design the path for the future of ophthalmol­ogy in India

With an aim to boost the latest and advanced technologi­es available for the treatment of eye related ailments in the country, an internatio­nal conference was organised by All India Ophthalmol­ogical Society (AIOS).

The event was inaugurate­d by the CEO, NITI Aayog, Amitabh Kant. Over 8,000 national and internatio­nal delegates attended the event.

“AIOC 2020 is one of the biggest platforms for the Indian Ophthalmol­ogists providing an opportunit­y to share experience­s of ophthalmol­ogists, discuss pitfalls and design the path for the future of ophthalmol­ogy in India. Scientific deliberati­ons and social interactio­ns were discussed at the highest order,” said Dr Mahipal S Sachdev, president designate of AIOS.

“Deliberati­ons in this conference shared by over 2000 renowned national and internatio­nal faculty members are expected to be a genesis of a lot of ingenious and indigenous therapeuti­c protocols and ideas which will become gold standards of ophthalmic care the world over.”

President, AIOS, Dr S Natarajan said: “With advancemen­ts in the field of ophthalmol­ogy, timely detection and treatment can prevent almost all types of vision problem thereby preventing addition of blindness burden in the country.”
