Vicky Awaits Takht

The actor, who has always wanted to do a period film, is keen to start shooting the film next month

Next month will see the biggest assembly of actors in Bollywood in recent times, all part of one multistarrer.

“We are starting the shoot of Takht next month. I am starting the preparations for the film immediately after the release of Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship. I have always wanted to work in a period film and I have ticked one more item from my bucket list. There is no pressure on me but a lot of excitement, and I am looking forward to the process,” says Vicky Kaushal, who is working with Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor in the Karan Johar directorial.

The actor’s first horror film Bhoot released on Friday to an average response, grossing over `10 crores in two days. “Whatever we wanted to do has been appreciated and it has registered with the audience. I have my fingers crossed,” he says, hoping for a continued appreciation from the audience for the film directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh. Vicky says that when he was offered the role by one of the producers Shashank Khaitan and director Bhanu, he had just worked in a secondary role in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju, and his film with Alia Bhatt titled Raazi had not even released. And what got him thinking was why producer Karan Johar was trying to make a horror film.

“I was keen to know why Dharma was interested in producing a horror film. Then, I realised that it was a pure horror with no songs and comedy, and agreed to do the film,” says the Uri actor. — Sanskriti Media
