Kareena Kapoor Khan has finally bit the bullet and joined Instagram, gathering nearly two million followers in less than a month. Not that this wasn’t enough to drive fans over the wall, Bebo is also keeping it as real and authentic as possible with unfiltered, personal pictures of herself and her family.
When asked about her late appearance on Instagram, the actress says she is on social media to streamline and verify all the information about her that is coming out. “My fans have pulled me towards this. There are so many fan clubs out there and they were all asking me to do so. We needed one point where you could know all about me, about my films, my brands, and my life,” she explains.
Unfortunately, Kareena has a lot of catching up to do if she is to match up to of other actresses’ follower counts. With this in mind, here’s a look at the top five Bollywood celebs on Instagram

Kiara Advani, who until a few years ago was struggling for a place under the arclights, is now a much sought-after name in Bollywood. Producer Karan Johar’s forthcoming comedy Mr Lele, directed by Shashank Khaitan, was first offered to Kiara. She couldn’t find the time to accommodate the film and thus the project passed on to Janhvi Kapoor.
This snub hasn’t gone down well with Karan Johar, who was instrumental in re-launching Kiara in the web series Lust Stories. However, a source close to the development defends Kiara’s inability to oblige her mentor. “Kiara is now as much a Dharma girl as Janhvi, but she has to complete Laxmmi Bomb with Akshay Kumar and Indoo Ki Jawani with producer Nikhil Advani. Her dates for these assignments clashed with Dharma’s Mr Lele. No hard feelings. She will have many opportunities to do other films with Dharma Productions.” Incidentally, Johar is not the only hotshot filmmaker Kiara has said no to. Mohit Suri wanted to cast her with John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapoor in the sequel to Ek Villain, but she couldn’t accept the offer. The role has now gone to Disha Patani.
