Apply for curfew passes now on Delhi police’s website

The Delhi police, on Saturday, said people can apply for movement passes on their website during the 21-day nationwide lockdown.

According to a senior police official, the applicants can visit the website of the Delhi police to apply for a movement or curfew pass. A movement pass is required for those in essential services to move without any hassle during the lockdown.

On Friday, Delhi police commission­er S.N. Shrivastav­a had issued an order approving the smooth delivery of essential goods, including food, groceries, and medicines, in the national capital.

The Delhi police had set up a 24x7 helpline number to resolve issues related to lockdown through direct interventi­on as far as possible. The number, 23469526, received a total of 3,796 calls till Saturday. From 2.00 pm on Friday till 2.00 pm on Saturday, total 1,156 calls were received.

Of the above, 419 calls were related to outside Delhi which have been referred to the respective state helpline numbers. While 68 calls were received related to no food and no money, which have been forwarded to NGOs for direct relief at their addresses, 32 calls were received regarding medical issues and have been resolved through proper guidance to proceed in case of such emergencie­s.

Meanwhile, 423 calls were related to movement passes and were advised to approach the respective jurisdicti­onal additional DCP’s office. Further, seven calls were related to Covid-19 issue and they were provided the coronaviru­s helpline numbers. The respective jurisdicti­onal SHOs were also informed.

The police also said that the distributi­on time of newspapers is 4.00 am to 9.00 am. It has been reported that at many places newspaper agents and distributo­rs are being blocked from distributi­ng newspaper for which field functionar­ies be instructed to allow the newspaper vendors who are engaged in the distributi­on of newspaper from 4.00 am to 9.00 am is blocked.
