Amid reports that a number of people have been feeling stressed out or depressed, the social media team is also working on engaging doctors, including psychologists, to counsel people through Facebook and Whatsapp and Skype. Along with assisting people, volunteers have been asked to keep a close watch on fake news and rumours, highlight them and then report it to the authorities concerned and promote social distancing.

Some of the BJP volunteers,

who are also professionals from various fields, are also helping out people from the same field, in sorting out work-related problems as many people are working from homes. Helpline numbers have been shared and volunteers are reaching out to people, even in other states through the local BJP leaders and supporters. BJP MPs and MLAs are also part of this coordination network.

Relaying regular updates from the Union health ministry on Covid-19, to measures taken by the Centre to assist people to dos’ and dont’s of state government during the lockdown, BJP yuva morcha and party’s volunteers, has a strong network in cities and almost every district and even in rural areas, where they are also helping small farmers and also assisting small grocery shops in getting supplies from nearby towns.

In many areas, the party workers and volunteers are reaching out to people, who want to donate food, grocery, clothes, reading materials and other essential commodities for the poor and needy.
