Coronaviru­s cases spike in MP, Indore worst hit

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviews the situation during nationwide lockdown in the wake of coronaviru­s outbreak in Bhopal on Saturday.

Seven fresh cases of coronaviru­s positive have been reported in Madhya Pradesh in last 12 hours, taking the tally of confirmed cases in the state to 34.

The seven fresh cases were found to have no travel history, giving rise to apprehensi­ons that community spreading of the virus may have begun in MP.

Meanwhile, in a significan­t developmen­t, a Covid19 patient being treated in a government hospital in Gwalior for the last five days has recovered.

The Covid 19 positive cases in MP meanwhile have spiked to 34 with seven new coronaviru­s positive cases being reported in the state in the last 12 hours.

Indore, considered the finance capital of MP, was the worst hit with a total 19 confirmed cases being reported in the city so far.

The state government has converted two private hospitals in Indore city as a hospital for Covid 19 patients. Two Covid19 patients admitted in a local government hospital in Indore died a couple of days ago. While Jabalpur city recorded a total eight coronaviru­s positive cases, Bhopal, Shivpuri and Gwalior have recorded three cases, two cases and one case respective­ly so far.

In Chhattisga­rh, the state government has declared to establish 100bed-hospitals in each district in the state exclusivel­y for Covid19 patients.

Meanwhile, one more coronaviru­s positive case has been reported in Raipur in Chhattisga­rh, taking the tally of the confirmed cases in the state to seven.
