The COVID-19 lockdown has been a time for introspection and reminiscence for the 31-year-old allrounder cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, who is all cooped up at his home in Jamnagar. In a recent post on his Instagram page, Jadeja shared a throwback 43-second video of him flaunting his horse-riding skills at his farmhouse.

Now, the video, captioned “My all time favourite (sic),” has gone viral, and the Internet is abuzz, swooning over the man’s horse-riding skills, which we have been told even skipper Virat Kohli approved of. “Royal Rajput on Riding... Superstar...", Virat Kohli has said about Jadeja’s horse-riding skill.

“It has been 10 years since he first started horse riding,” his wife, Rivaba Solanki, a BJP worker in her constituency, tells us. “Ravindra picked up the skills from a friend, to whose place he frequented.”

However, Rivaba informs us that she is not entirely fond of horse-riding although she has done it once with Jadeja’s assistance. Today, the couple owns four horses in the farmhouse—Veer, Vari,

Manek and Laalbir.

The simple throwback video garnered over 24.7 k likes and over thousand comments — both appreciative and churlish. “No Lamborghini or Range rover can beat swag of this (sic),” wrote an appreciative fan referring to the speed at which ‘Jaddu’, as Jadeja is fondly called, was riding the horse. “You are a pride of Jamnagar but in the current situation instead of dreaming this passion help the poor people,” wrote another fan. Another wrote in the colloquial lingo, saying, “Bou Lambu run-up lidhu bapu (“You have taken a long ride).
