The officials said that the visitors to the congregation were tested for Covid-19 however, their reports have come negative. They have been kept under observation and would be tested again in the due course.

The list of 25 persons who were given shelter includes, 13 Bangladeshi, eight Malaysian and four Indian nationals. These illegal residents were found after the Central government issued a list of those who assembled from Maharashtra, following which the Thane police carried out raids on March 31.

The two religious establishments that were found to be sheltering the foreign nationals have been identified as Tanvir-ulUlum madrasa and Nadiul-Falah school. The Mumbra police has booked four officials each of the two establishments.

“The accused are being questioned in connection with the case and it is also being ascertained as to how these foreigners reached Mumbra without being stopped anywhere. The foreign nationals travel status and their past visits and activities are also under scanner,” said an officer of Thane police station.

These visitors who visited the congregation after coming to India on a tourist visa have now been blacklisted and they will not be granted a visa again in future.
