Vaishali area fully sealed after 31 test Covid +ve

No movement allowed except for essential services

◗ THE DELHI-GHAZIABAD border witnessed heavy traffic and chaos. Vehicles lined up at the border area where the police were checking them before allowing in. There were reports of “heavy traffic” on the Bhopura border, Ghazipur border, Chilla border and DND border.

The Ghaziabad administra­tion has completely sealed the Vaishali area. The area was sealed after 31 people tested positive for coronaviru­s cases. Except for the essential services, no movement has been allowed in the area. Police along with barricades have been deployed at different entry points of Vaishali.

According to official records of the administra­tion, Vaishali has five category 1 containmen­t zones (areas where at least one case has emerged), and also two category 2 containmen­t zones ( areas where more than one positive case has emerged).

The district officials have been mulling over implementi­ng the sector scheme in Vaishali and also inspected the area on Saturday.

Indirapura­m have been two coronaviru­s hotspots in Ghaziabad. But according to reports, the cases saw a sudden spurt after the border curbs became lax during lockdown 3.0 and 4. Recently, the Ghaziabad administra­tion has again imposed stringent curbs prohibitin­g all border movement between Delhi and Ghaziabad.

The Ghaziabad administra­tion had previously sealed off Loni and Khoda colony, where the area is divided into several pockets and an administra­tive team comprising medical and police personnel is assigned to each pocket to ensure that there is no movement. Additional­ly, random tests are also being done.

Hundreds of officegoer­s, those with valid epasses and many with medical appointmen­ts were stuck for hours on the busy entry points of Delhi as its borders were sealed on Tuesday, leading to chaos and traffic snarls.
