No more hic-cups! Order booze on govt site

Flooded with complaints of online fraud, the Odisha government has finally come up with a secure digital platform from where people can book liquor online and get home delivery.

A special gateway www.https://osbc.co.in has been created in the official website of Odisha State Beverages Corporation from where the consumers can book liquor online and get home delivery of alcohol from their nearest retailer points.

The portal will act as a digital platform to bring all the retailers and consumers together to ensure smooth and hassle-free home delivery of liquor.

Acharya on Tues-day said the new facility was introduced to enable people register on OSBC website, place order and get home delivery of liquor.

A customer has to first register on the official website using his/her registered mobile phone number.

Later, an OTP will be sent for verification and a password will be generated. Once registered, a consumer will not have to register again on the website for booking liquor subsequently.

“The main idea is to facilitate sale of liquor while preventing online fraud,” said Mr Acharya, adding that soon additional features will be launched where consumers can also make online payment for liquor.

The portal will generate a challan containing the above details with MRP and delivery charges.

The retailers can aggregate all the orders at one place which makes it convenient for them to handle. Since all the orders get registered in the portal, it automatically generates the record of each transaction and frees the retailer from the hassle of maintaining another register.
