The princess and the portrait — a no-love story Another (disputed) biography on Melania Trump releases, and neither she nor her stepdaughter Ivanka endorse it

-

There’s no love lost between USA’s First Lady Melania Trump and stepdaughter Ivanka. And the soap opera has seemingly added quite a flair to yet another (disputed) biography on Melania, called The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump.

Among other things not so flattering about the First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS), the book, written by Pulitzer-prize winning Washington Post reporter Mary Jordan, rips into the tense relationship between the FLOTUS and her stepdaughter, the oldest daughter from Donald Trump’s first marriage. For instance, the biography states that White House aides heard Melania Trump called Ivanka ‘the princess’, as Melania’s apparent reflection of Ivanka’s sense of entitlement, while the first daughter referred to Melania as ‘the portrait’ …er… apparently because the latter spoke about as much as one!

The biography is apparently a compilation from about 100 interviews Mary Jordan had conducted with the White House staff. The book also exposes how Melania renegotiated her prenuptial agreement with President Trump before she moved into the White House, six months after he was sworn in as President, so that their son Barron Trump had a little more than equal share in her husband’s inheritance. And when that was being played out, Ivanka was trying to change the First Lady’s Office in the White House to the First Family’s Office!

However, White House spokesperson Judd Deere rubbished the biography, saying, “These allegations couldn’t be further from the truth and had the Washington Post or the publishers of this book fact-checked this with Ivanka’s office, they would know that. Hit pieces like these only serve to conjure nonexistent palace-intrigue stories unworthy of the paper they’re printed on.” Another official in the White House, Stephanie Grisham shared similar sentiments, saying, “This book belongs in the fiction genre.”

In this case, though, it appears the truth may indeed be stranger than fiction.
