SRK builds slate as producer

-

Shah Rukh Khan is all set to move ahead with his film oeuvres. However, he has not greenlit anything as an actor beyond the film with Rajkumar Hirani on migration. The film is being rumoured to start somewhere in the last quarter of the year, for which the Swades actor is apparently growing his hair.

But the actor — who also doubles up as a didactic producer — has quietly lined up a bevvy of films and has also been in talks with some leading lights of Bollywood to work on projects for both the OTT platforms as well as the movies.

“The lockdown has been ideal for many people to line up projects which are not immediate. We are told that he has also spoken to some actors, including another leading young star, to feature in his next film production. Details are awaited from the horse’s mouth though,” says a trade source.

Shah Rukh had released Kaamyaab along with Manish Mundra before lockdown took place after Badla was a blockbuster last year. His next release as a producer will be Abhishek Bachchan’s Bob Biswas, and he has another web series with Bobby Deol called Class of ’83, among other projects. Incidentally, the My Name is Khan actor also completed 20 years as a producer earlier this year when Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani from his first production house Dreamz and Filmz Unlimited was released. He later produced Asoka under another banner Arclightz and Films Pvt Ltd. — Sanskriti Media
