Home secy reviews corona arrangements in capital

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Home secretary Ajay Bhalla chaired a high level meeting to review the corona arrangements in Delhi on late Thursday evening. Following this, the home ministry once again clarified on the issue of home quarantine, which has led to some confrontation between the Delhi government and the Centre.

The home ministry claimed that patients who do not show too many symptoms and have a house with a minimum of two rooms with separate toilets will be allowed to be in home quarantine. However, officials further added that in other cases the person will be shifted to a Covid care centre or a hospital. Even persons with any co-morbidity like hypertension, diabetes, renal disease, and other serious diseases would be shifted to a similar corona care facility.

With cases continuing to show sharp increase, the home ministry has been reviewing the situation on daily basis.

Meanwhile, ITBP chief S.S. Deswal visited the biggest Covid care facility in the world with 10,000 beds, which is being made operational in the national capital’s Radha Soami Satsang camp.

More than 1,000 health care professionals from the Armed Forces have already been roped in to run this particular facility.

The Armed Forces personnel have also been deployed for providing medical care to Covid patients. For this, more than 500 railway coaches have been converted into hospitals with beds and oxygen. These railway coaches have been parked at the Anand Vihar railway station.
