Boman talks time off

- LIPIKA VARMA

Boman Irani is a chameleon of an actor who can seamlessly fit into any role, be it the wacky professor in Main Hoon Na or even a sexologist in Made in China. The actor, who took a long break after the Mikhil Musale directorial, is now slated to play cricketer Farokh Engineer in Kabir Khan’s ’83.

Speaking about his break from the limelight, Boman explains that he was focused on his family life. “I had over worked a lot with no time for family. I became a grandfather and wanted to spend time with them (children and grandchildren), but I could not. They grow up so soon and go to school later and you don’t get time,” he shares with a smile.

The Munna Bhai M.B.B.S actor doesn’t have to worry about staying in the limelight as he has carved a niche for himself and even shared the screen with Bollywood legends like Amitabh Bachchan. When asked about what Big B has taught him, Boman says the lessons have been endless. “You learn from every single experience. He sits on the chair and is talking, and sees from the corner of the eye that an assistant is coming and says the shot is ready. He gets up like he has a spring, and he is gone. He knows the space,” he shares before signing off.
