Odisha villagers kill croc, distribute meat
Bhubaneswar: Cruelty to animals crossed all limits at Kaldapalli under Padia police limits in Odisha’s Malkangiri district as some locals killed a crocodile and distributed the meat among villagers. Videos and photos of the incident have gone viral on social media. According to reports, some youths of the locality brought a 10-feet-long crocodile from a nearby Saveri river to the village and tied the reptile. They hanged the animal from a tree, following which locals gathered at the spot to see the crocodile. After the death of the reptile, the youths distributed the meat among some villagers. Till last reports came in, the forest department had constituted three special teams and sent to the Kaldapalli village to investigate into the killing of the reptile. “We have constituted three teams and sent them to Kaldapalli to investigate to find out who killed the crocodile,” a local forest range officer said.
