Sonam Kapoor is furious with social media site for not removing death threat posts against Rhea

Death threats received by producer Rhea Kapoor, daughter of Anil Kapoor and sister of Sonam Kapoor, have not been removed from Instagram despite being reported, leaving the Bollywood family fuming.

Rhea has been receiving a slew of threats, such as ‘Tu kutte ki maut maregi!’ Far from acting ‘instantly’ on the complaints about these posts, no action has been taken by the platform. Instead, Sonam and her family have been receiving only the standard messages in response to their reporting of the objectionable posts.

“We found that this comment likely doesn’t go against our community guidelines. If you think we made a mistake, please report it again... If you don’t want to see this user on

Instagram, you can unfollow, mute or block them to hide their posts and comments from your feed,” was the pre-set answer sent by the bot!

An enraged Sonam Kapoor wrote, “Of course, I will block this individual but are you doing your part to keep this ‘community’ safe?”, she replied.

“Instagram doesn’t think death threats is a violation? Or their India team cannot read Hindi,” she shot back, after receiving the customary response.

Rhea has produced films like Aisha, Khoobsurat and the superhit Veere Di Wedding till date, all starring her sister. Sonam Kapoor has around 29 million followers on the platform while Rhea has 1.6 million.
