Speeding car kills cop at US embassy

New Delhi: A 51-year-old Delhi Police assistant subinspect­or (ASI) on duty was mowed down by a speeding car outside the US Embassy in the national capital on Friday morning. The car also rammed into the boundary wall of the embassy after crushing the ASI to death. Police said that they have arrested the accused, identified as Siddharth Bhagat (41), an assistant professor at Rajasthan University, Jaipur. According to a senior police official, on Friday morning at around 10 am a car being driven by Bhagat rammed into a wall near US embassy. “The ASI, Lal Man Singh Sisodia, of Police Control Room (PCR) unit, who was on duty near the gate of US embassy died in the accident,” said the senior police official.
