Taking celebrations outdoor

Radhika Mundra from Jodhpur decided to make Independence Day celebrations more than just about marchpasts and parades broadcast on the TV in 2018. So, she headed out on a picnic with her friends and each of them got the Tricolour tattooed on their wrists.

Flag hoisting and fun times

Independence Day usually calls for patriotic celebrations, paying homage to our freedom fighters and remembering their struggles to win independence for the country. But with the coronavirus dominating the airwaves this year, the celebrations have naturally become a low-key affair for many.

However, not letting the pandemic interfere with their sense of patriotism, some home-grown entrepreneurs have decided to make this Independence Day a special one by manufacturing products such as masks, accessories, gifts and eco-friendly flags, with a touch of patriotism to them.

THE ECO-FRIENDLY CELEBRATIONS

A kshata Bhadranna and Rahul Pagad, Founders, Dopolgy, an eco-friendly product company, came up with seed-paper flags as well as hand-bands for Independence Day celebrations.

“Seeing how badly the pandemic has affected us, we thought of these seed paper flags and hand-bands with a note written about the achievements of our country bration.”
