Nadda: BJP, JDU, LJP to win jointly; Opp. a spent force
BJP president J.P. Nadda said Sunday that the JD(U), LJP and his party will contest the Bihar Assembly polls together and expressed confidence that the NDA will emerge a winner in Bihar under the leadership of chief minister Nitish Kumar.
His remark at a virtual address to the Bihar BJP executive meet comes amid a bitter war of words between the JD(U) and LJP. Sources said the BJP’s announcement would also put to rest all speculation on the NDA’s fate in Bihar where Assembly polls are due in October-November.
“The NDA emerged victorious whenever three partners BJP, JD(U) and LJP contested the polls together. This year also we are confident that under the leadership of Nitish Kumar the NDA in Bihar is going to win”, Mr Nadda said.
During the 2019 Lok
Sabha polls, the BJP in alliance with the JD(U) and LJP had emerged a winner.
Addressing party workers through video conferencing Mr Nadda also directed them to highlight the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government through door-todoor campaigns and small public meetings.
Terming the Opposition in Bihar as a “spent force”, he said that people in the state had been looking at the BJP with hope. “The Opposition lacks ideology, vision and a spirit to serve. They have become a spent force and people are looking at the BJP with great hope,” Mr Nadda said.
At Saturday’s state executive meeting, BJP state chief Sanjay Jaiswal said the “party has set a target of winning three-fourths seats for the NDA in the Assembly elections”.
