- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Ace chef Vikas Khanna’s relentless efforts to feed those who have been affected by the pandemic situation have helped millions to not go to bed on an empty stomach. The Michelin Star chef ’ s Feed India Campaign has not just gained national attention but has also created a buzz internationally.

He has been supplying food, sanitation kits and essentials to the less- privileged sections of society and the campaign has already touched 30 million people. Vikas, who is currently in the US, ensures that food trucks reach even remote places which are probably not even on most maps.

Besides meals, he has also distributed 4,000,000 pairs of footwear and 2 million face masks to those in need. Vikas now plans to distribute 2 million meals during the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The meal bags will first be sent to the Siddhivinayak temple and Lal Bagh Ka Raja and from there, they will be taken by trucks to various locations for distribution.

He also plans to send meal bags to his idols, Lata Mangeshkar, Neena Gupta, Farah Khan and Madhuri Dixit

Nene, as a mark of respect and to seek their blessing.

As someone who believes in spreading joy during festivals, Vikas says, “Ganesh Pooja is a very special festival for everyone in India and there cannot be a better day to celebrate it by feeding those who are in need.

No one should be deprived of food on any day. Doing this for the people of my country gives me immense joy and satisfaction.”

This is not the first time that Vikas has made festivals joyous for the underprivileged. He has distributed meals during Eid too. He also arranged for food packets to be given to thousands of people affected by the Assam floods. On the festival of Rakshabandhan, as part of the Feed India Campaign, the chef also distributed 3 million sanitary pads to women across the country.
