There’s no limiting Dino Moreo

The actor- producer is trying his hand at varied roles, including negative ones, and is upbeat about his new ventures

Dino Moreo may have been stereotyped as a chocolate box hero in his earlier films like Raaz, but in his current, second stint in the film world, he is playing very different characters. Hostages Season 2, a crime thriller in which he plays an assassin, is all set to release on Hot Star, and he will be essaying an antagonist’s role in Moghuls.

Dino is unconcerned about donning negative roles, and feels that actors cannot be limited to any particular ‘ image’ anymore.

Talking about varied roles, Dino says, “As an actor today, I’m not really worried about being typecast. I don’t think that happens any more. I feel that certain negative characters, with shades of grey or brat elements, have a lot more scope for acting. These characters really help you excel. So, yes, if offered another negative role, I will attempt it without hesitation. Playing interesting characters interests me.”

“I play an assassin in Hostages Season 2,” he explains. “It’s more like a special appearance. Though he doesn’t come in too frequently, when he is there, you’re very aware of him. He is a cold- blooded killer.”

Dino is all praise for the director, Sachin, and Sudhir Mishra, who runs the show. Talking of the latter, he says, “He is such an experienced person and it was a delight to work with him.” He describes Sachin as “very brilliant,” and adds, “The team is made up of such professionals, and it was wonderful working with all of them. It was a great experience.”

He feels OTT platforms are a definite boon in this pandemic situation, as people are fed up with TV and want to watch some new content, which OTT provides.

“I think it’s a great time to create fantastic content,” he points out.

Meanwhile, Dino is waiting to start work on Moghuls.

“This is another exciting show,” he promises, and says the makers are trying for the scale of grandness seen in Game of Thrones.

The Life Mein Kabhie Kabhiee actor, who has also turned producer further says, “I have this film, Helmet, which will be released soon. After that we have a web series and a film scheduled. Hopefully we will be able to start this year.”
