Encouraging the party workers to set the agenda for getting 100 plus seat in 2021 assembly polls in Assam, the BJP general secretary Ram Madhav here on Friday asked the party workers and office bearers not to be afraid of new political alliance of opposition Congress with All India United Democratic Front ( AIUDF).

Mr Madhav who was here to address Assam BJP’s executive meet, aimed at finalising the strategies of the party for the assembly polls next

year, said, “Let Congress form any alliance, we need not to fear. Some media will try to calculate and add on the votes polled by the two political parties to create a hype but elections are not simple arithmetic. It is the chemistry that matters the most and our chemistry in Assam is excellent.”

Asserting that Assam BJP should set the mission of 100 plus seat in the forthcoming assembly polls, Mr Madhav also lauded the BJP led alliance with regional AGP and Bodoland Peoples’ Front ( BPF) that drove out Congress out of power by getting more than 80 seats in 2016 assembly polls.

Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, while supporting the agenda of 100 plus seats said, “If 42 lakh BJP workers rope in at least one member each to the party, we can achieve our mission of 100 plus seats easily in Assam.”

It is significant that the ruling BJP is chalking out a 100- day action plan to strengthen the party at the grass root level, while two separate surveys are being carried out for selection of the party’s candidates for the polls.

The BJP president said that the party has already started preparations for the polls and steps have been taken to strengthen the party units right down to the grass root level.
