Moving into positivity

-

A“She knew this transition was not about becoming someone better but about finally allowing herself to become who she’d always been.” — Anonymous s I write today’s article, I feel the tangibility of change and transition. I moved homes this week. If you are a mum of toddlers, you’d know this can be an incredibly overwhelming experience. It is more so if you are stuck in a pandemic, seeking limited help from packers and movers. As I was trying to gather my wits and start the moving process, I drew a Tarot card for myself. I gaped in astonishment, as the card that stared back at me was The Six of Swords. Yes, Tarot was sending me a message!

The Six of Swords shows a hunched, shrouded woman and her child alone on a journey across the water. The woman’s head is covered, suggesting sadness as she moves away from something in her past. While the water behind the boat is choppy, there are no rough seas ahead, signifying a peaceful environment ahead. The ferryman is significant as it could be someone guiding them or may be just someone kind enough to offer them safe passage. This card signifies transition, leaving behind what was familiar and moving toward the unknown. It could be moving homes, leaving a relationship, changing jobs, going through a rite of passage or a metaphorical shift. It is a phase of realignment and life can feel turbulent and confounding but know that a better future awaits you. This journey brings mental clarity to smoothen the way ahead, and make the passage from negative to positive as peaceful as possible. You need to permit yourself to be helped and supported and move through this ocean of change as you lean toward the silver linings on the horizon. Help did come my way, too, when my friend invited me for a cup of tea. It was the best forty- five minutes I had experienced in the past few days as it helped me enjoy my cup, be calm and sort my head.

Here’s wishing everyone realises that sometimes the only way for you is to leave the past behind and move positively into the future. Trust that life will support you, send a helping hand and bring new, rewarding experiences. So, have faith, open yourself to a new journey — body, mind, and soul — and give yourself permission to begin.
