MUSICAL DUO RAAJEEV V. BHALLA AND BENNY DAYAL COME TOGETHER TO CREATE A SINGLE CALLED JEE LE

- RESHMI CHAKRAVORTY

The world needs a dose of positivity and hope. We may not have everything right now, but we all have something to be grateful for. The song tries to remind you to focus on that and to remember that we are all the rock stars of our own lives. Live to the fullest within the limitations. Push yourself to be better every day — Benny Dayal, Singer

Music has been known to calm anxiety, ease pain, facilitate rehabilitation and improve quality of life. So also, composer Raajeev V. Bhalla and singer Benny Dayal decided to come up with a track called Jee Le, which celebrates life, hoping to bring a smile on people’s faces especially in these bleak times. This joyful collaboration, the duo tells us, is a song of hope that encourages the world to not overthink problems and just live in the moment. Benny, singer of the track and voice to some of Bollywood chartbusters such as Bang Bang and Daaru Desi, talks to us about the inspiration.

“When I was approached by Raajeev for this song, I was game to work with him immediately because I have personally been a fan of his music,” says Benny.

“Moreover, the world needs a dose of positivity and hope. We may not have everything right now, but we all have something to be grateful for. The song tries to remind you to focus on that and to remember that we are all the rock stars of our own lives.”

According to Benny, the video was to remind people that we can get through this, no matter what.

“And for that, we have to live to the fullest within the limitations. Push yourself to be better every day,” Benny adds.

Raajeev, the composer and lyricist, tells us that he and Benny had worked earlier and stayed in touch. “I had approached Benny with another song initially but he wanted another option, and that’s when Jee Le happened,” explains Raajeev. “Benny and I thought the message of ‘ live in the moment, my friend; this is all we got… Zindagi ka tu rock star,’ is much needed today. We cannot keep worrying all the time and losing sight of the joy we have right now. We must live big, shine bright and soar high, no matter what the lows. And I am really happy the way the song has shaped up, too.”

challenges despite having guest artists lending their presence to the video.

“There were no crazy challenges; rather, this was an effortless thing. We both have recording studios at our home, so we recorded and shared notes with each other,” explains Benny.

“Even coordinating with the guest artists was not difficult; they had sent us their videos, which we edited well. In fact, I’d also add that the guest artists helped encourage each other and collaborate to spread positivity and optimism.”

The video also features musicians such as Vishal Dadlani, Salim Merchant and Armaan Malik and singers such as Sh al mali Kholgade, Aditya Narayan, Jonita Gandhi, Shilpa Rao, Aditi Singh Sharma, Divya Kumar, Shruti Pathak, Siddhart Mahadevan, Mihir Joshi, Arunaja, Kamakshi Khanna, Lisa Mishra, Nikita Gandhi, Sangeet/ Anusha, Shashwat Singh, Saptak Chatterjee and Shefali Alvarez.

Clearly, Raajeev and Benny are grateful for all the artists who made special appearances in the video. “All of them, be it Vishal Dadlani, Salim Merchant or Armaan Malik, agreed in a heartbeat to lend their time , and even shot from the safety of their own homes to share the uplifting message of the song,” the duo tells us.
