BJP launches social media campaign against Mamata

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

With crucial Assembly polls nearing in West Bengal and the political slugfest between the ruling TMC and the BJP becoming more acerbic by the day, the saffron party marked TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee’s 66th birthday Tuesday with a social media campaign #PisiMuktoBanglaChai. Senior BJP leaders, workers and supporters focused on the “misdeeds” of the Mamata Banerjee led government, including “syndicate, cut money, corruption, nexus with coal mafia, cow smuggling, COVID- 19 mis management, Amphan mismanagement and political murders” of TMC’s opponents.

“Pishi celebrates her birthday while political workers are killed with impunity… poor people suffer as her party loots the state coffers… No jobs, no healthcare, no industry… But Bengal will change for the better by her next birthday with a BJP government in the state,” tweeted BJP general secretary and state in- charge Kailash Vijayvargiya.

Many Twitter handles of BJP supporters and leaders, including Union minister Babul Supriyo, tweeted media reports on the latest NCRB data showing the state having the most political murders. The BJP has been accusing the TMC of “political murders” of its cadre and supporters.

Barrackpore MP and

BJP West Bengal unit vice- president Arjun Singh tweeted: “Over 130 BJP workers have been massacred in West Bengal at the instigation of @ MamataOfficial in order to fulfil her political motives and to make space for her nephew. Is Didi going to run away from this reality and hide behind closed doors as always?”
