Man, wife arrested for mortgaging father’s property

Signatures forged to avail loan

A husband- wife duo were arrested for allegedly mortgaging the property of his father in Noida, police said on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Anuj Jaipuria ( 40) and his 36year- old wife Sunita ( name changed), they said.

According to police, one Rajender Jaipuria had purchased a property number B- 158, Noida Sector- 31 in 2011. He allowed his younger son Anuj Jaipuria to stay with him on the first floor of the house, along with his wife and two children.

In 2018, officials of Ch ola manda lam Investment and Finance Company Limited visited complainan­t’s house claiming that a home loan of ` 2,47,13,363 was availed by mortgaging property number B- 158, Noida Sector- 31, a senior police officer said.

Apart from the complainan­t, his wife Jayshree Jaipuria, Anuj Jaipuria and his wife were shown as co- applicants in the loan, the officer said.

Nagar, Delhi — in the alleged loan documents which he had disposed of in 2011, police said.

During investigat­ion, the documents submitted with the complainan­t lender bank were scrutinize­d and it was found that Rajender was shown as applicant and his wife Jayshree, his son Anuj and Anuj’s wife have been shown as co- applicants, the officer said.

Signatures in the name of four persons have been made on every loan document while complainan­t claimed that he and his wife Jayshree never signed any loan document and their signatures have been forged by his younger son and son’s wife, police said.

“Both the accused persons were arrested from Ludhiana in Punjab on Wednesday,” Joint Commission­er of Police ( Economic Offences Wing) O P Mishra said.
