Singer Sunitha gets hitched

The crooner says her wedding day is the best day of her life

Singer Sunitha Upadrasta got married to digital entreprene­ur Ram Veerapanan­i on Saturday evening at the Sri Seetha Rama Chandra Swamy Temple, Ammapally, near Shamshabad.

Sunitha had earlier stated that Ram had entered her life as a “caring friend” and eventually became her life partner. Deccan Chronicle caught up with the 42-yearold singer as she began a new life, and she let us in on her immediate plans.

The much-admired singer started off by describing her wedding day as the best day of her life. “My parents are happy to see me enter wedlock with Ram. We have known each other for years,” says a cheerful Sunitha known for soulful numbers such as Nannedo seyamaku from the 2003-film Simhadri and Ee velalo neevu from the 1995-film Gulabi.

When asked about whether the couple have honeymoon plans, she blushes before admitting that she is definitely going to have her ‘me time’ with her soulmate. “We are planning to take a break for a couple of days and that’s all for now,” Sunitha reveals, suggesting that Ram, like her, will get back to work very quickly.

As they look forward to a new life in the New Year, Sunitha says she and Ram have been working constantly ever since the country resumed the unlock process last year. “It’s our work that keeps us engaged. We both love to be immersed in our respective tasks,” the lady states.

Sunitha had confirmed her marriage in December 2020. “Like every mother, I dream of settling my children down well. At the same time, I am blessed with wonderful and thoughtful children and parents who always want to see me well settled in life…. the moment has finally come,” read a part of her post on her Instagram page.
