When stars fall out Stardust

Will showcase the conflicts in Bollywood

- — Sanskriti Media

It’s a story about Bollywood and the clashes between superstars of the Hindi film industry. After his mockumentary AK Vs AK on the clash between an erstwhile superstar and a filmmaker, Vikramaditya Motwane is all set to start a web series, aptly-titled Stardust.

“It is not going to be about a single clash. Rather, it will be about clashes between various stars — the Dev Anand-Raj Kapoor rivalry, the Amitabh Bachchan-Rajesh Khanna rivalry, and others. There won’t be any direct references to any actors, but it will show the manipulativeness in various aspects of the film industry post-Independence,” says a source. The web-series will trace developments along these lines in Bollywood till 1989.

Stardust will reportedly go on the floors in March-April, and the first season will consist of eight episodes or more.

Aparshakti Khurrana, Aditi Rao Hydari and Prosenjit Chatterjee have agreed to work on the project. Excited about his digital debut, Aparshakti says, “I have been wanting to foray into the digital world, but I was waiting for the right project. When Stardust came my way, I knew this would be it. I feel truly blessed that I will be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. I have always been very fond of his work.”

Sharing that he was looking forward to sharing screen space with a stellar cast, Aparshakti said “I am sure Stardust will be a learning ground and help me explore a different side to myself."
