MS Raju upset over Namrata’s Insta post?

I only sent a ‘gentle reminder’ says Okkadu producer

It’s been 18 years since Okkadu, starring Mahesh Babu, was released. The action drama went on to become the first blockbuster in Mahesh’s career. While fans of the superstar have been busy celebrating the film’s milestone online, Mahesh’s wife Namrata landed in a bit of a fix.

While describing the film as her all-time favourite classic, she tagged the people who worked for the film. However, Namrata missed mentioning the film’s producer M.S. Raju’s name. Naturally, this did not go down well with the producer.

Addressing Mahesh Babu, Raju tweeted, “Mistakes do happen babu...Namratha garu forgot my name on Instagram while addressing 18 yrs of Okkadu...but I am happy it's her favourite classic...good luck. (sic).”

Netizens feel that since it’s the producers who invest crores of rupees in a film, Namrata should have mentioned his name.

But when contacted, Raju vehemently denied being irked with Namrata. He said his tweet to Mahesh was only a gentle reminder, and added that his name might have slipped Namrata’s attention. “Why would I be angry with Namrata garu? By mistake she might have missed my name. There’s no offence here. Sometimes, when we are in a hurry, we do forget some names, that’s it,” states Raju. He asserts that his tweet was only in the spirit of reminding someone close about something they’d forgotten.

Soon after Raju’s tweet, Namrata quickly corrected the post adding Raju’s name.

The producer also says he’s had a close relationship with Mahesh Babu’s family. “Whenever we meet, we discuss scripts and latest events in the industry,” he adds.
