Several Indian celebrities were among the millions of people around the world who congratulated the new President and VicePresident of the United States of America, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who were sworn in on Wednesday. “The future is female,” exulted actress and former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, on social media, sharing a sketch of Kamala Harris who made history as the first woman to take office as the VicePresident of the United States. “It’s beyond empowering,” felt former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen, referring to Ms. Harris’ achievement.
